1998 to present. Freelance Artist, original works in:  videography, drawing, illustration, photography, design and multimedia productions.
Two production studios: Berkeley, California, USA; and Vienna , Austria, EU

1997 - 2001   Instructor of telecommunications technology at ITT Technical Institute in Hayward, California.

1994 to present.   Academic Artist and owner @delARTe, art studio (formerly: El Gato Press).
Multimedia production of fine prints, drawings and mixed media art work. Volunteer at the California College of Arts and Crafts Alumni Council
- now a member emeritus (Technology Chair).

1990 - 1993  Free lance technical consultant.

Conduct a variety of design and consulting services for US and European firms.
Technical interpreter, editing/writing (German and English).

1989 - 1990  Production Manager with the San Francisco Science Museum, the Exploratorium.

1986 - 1989  Adjunct Faculty,  National University, Oakland.
Teaches mathematics, computer graphics, business graphics, statistics, perception, computer operating systems, works in parallel as electronic engineer for Hercules Computer Technology, claim to fame all EMI qualifications for their graphics cards.

1985  birth of his second son Jeremy Ranharter.

1981 - 1986   College Instructor with Heald Colleges
develops and writes new Heald lab manuals.

1980  birth of first son Bryan Ranharter.
Forms his own business in the fine arts, building etching presses and producing
fine art prints in an attempt to combine art and technology.

1977 to 1981  Resumes work in electronics and communications with his previous
company.


1975  returns to school at the California College of Arts and Crafts, Fine Art Printmaking.

A variety of compatibility and academic credit issues between Austria (then a neutral country) and the United States accreditation systems lead to graduation with a post graduate bachelor degree as academic artist and printmaker, BFA Printing in 1977.

1973 -1975 works as an electronics engineer (quality control and reliability)

1970-73  works as mechanical engineer

1970 Emigration to the United States, Berkeley, California.

1970  Graduation with a BSEE in Telecommunications and High Frequency Technology.

1963  accepted into the Higher Technical Bundes Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt in
Vienna. Initially studies Electrical Engineering; changes to Telecommunications and High Frequency Technology after two years.

Born 1948  in Vienna, Austria.

Grew up in the center of the city of Vienna close to the Ringstrasze, within
walking distance of all the major cultural sites the city has to offer.
