Conceptual Realism is a genre whereby an
artwork is used to illuminate
a moment of truth;
a fundamental principle or otherwise an underlying
dynamic
found to be endemic
in something which is, in the eyes of the artist,
worthy of
detailing with in one of its incarnations.
This might
encompass merely a minute observation worthy to be
brought
forth to the audience,
perhaps even the need of closer observation
itself, all
the way up to a profound principle
demanding some detailing. A broad range of
devices may be
employed to accomplish this,
what ultimately determines the relative
success of
the item at hand is whether it imparts a
pertinent idea about itself
into the
observer.
Let this serve as a call for a conceptual ontology!
