Our Mission:

Open Letter / Unsolicited Proposal

Subject: Promotion of international peace and global calming
through art and artistic endeavor.
Furthering global understanding by shearing ideas.

The Reasoning: The creative people around this globe are for the most part some of the most peaceful people on the planet; they have other things to do then to raise havoc. The energies and efforts they wield may even be revolutionary at times but generally confine themselves to pointing the ways or exploring avenues of intellectual and creative pursuit; their activities take place not on barricades or in destructive behavior but in the seeking of better ways and improving the condition of humanity. All artists on earth suffer similar hurdles; they must balance their marketing efforts with their creative efforts, which weighs heavily on their output, a truly unifying and most trying necessity.
A systematic curtailing of the support for arts and humanities in favor of promoting technology and business has taken special toll in recent years.Perceptions in the wake of popular functionalism make ridicule of creative endeavor. This unfortunate attitude took hold in the 1980’s and continues to this date. Its origins root in multifaceted reactions to the budget squanderings in the art field that preceded the 80’s.Nearly 25 years have past since, and We think that a reevaluation of attitudes is in order. The reactions, justified as they may have been at the time, wiped out much of the support for creative endeavor especially at the grass roots level and thus curtailed ancillary benefits to society just at a time when for the first time in the history of mankind another possibility had opened. Our incredible industrial and agricultural production capabilities no longer require full time employment of anybody freeing substantial time for other endeavor such as continued education and creative avocation.Yet cultural activity remains a non-issue and is at best discussed in terms of the monetary success of the select few that made it into the lime light; much talent that may have yielded significant advance has shipwrecked in this climate. The prevailing attitudes resulted in an all around decline of quality of life, from questionable architecture to boring or stupid TV programs to rise in crime; direct results of absence of aspiration. We submit that creative people are important contributors to society, their overall impact on our society is significant and helps to create peaceful coexistence and a higher quality of life for all strata of mankind.

Much unrest in our global village stems from a profound unhappiness with possibilities as they are. Most people suffer from the inability to compete globally by themselves. We wish to provide a service to creative people that helps them improve their economic lot and reduce the burden they might be to the system, by helping them promote their wares and abilities in a manner that is consistent with current technology and would otherwise not affordable to them: To be noticed in the market; it is the most taunting, and difficult task for all creative talent in all disciplines.Finding a way to broadcast their talents is the key issue for all players in the creative arena. The few that managed this, are inevitably doing well and are contributing to the wealth of society. Too many others are left behind. By providing an avenue to reach the public it is possible to increase their economic and artistic activities in a manner consistent with peaceful creative competition for the betterment of all human environments.

The Project:

We wish to document and interview creative people around the globe, in particular artists that are less known yet show potential for success given some support. We will film them in their environments, show how they work, show what they do, document them for posterity and help broadcast their work to potential markets. They shall be encouraged to share their experiences, their creative ideas and to bring their efforts to an interested audience.

We want to do this by producing circa half hour video programs about the artists which can be broadcast, distributed on DVD, net-cast or distributed by any other means available. We wish to do this locally, nation wide and internationally so as to widen the experience and to promote international understanding and increase peaceful endeavor as broadly as possible.A positive, proactive focus on much neglected culture, esthetics and constructive activity could surely contribute to focusing the imagination of minds that all to easily slip into chaotic and destructive thinking.Comparatively little monetary help could facilitate this endeavor and put a program on its feet that will ultimately pay its own way.

The Result:

An archive of creative endeavor that can serve as resource for other creative minds and be easily distributed, this would be inexpensive promotional material for artists in need of exposure.Such productions shall be made available to schools and not for profit organizations for distribution and broadcast.A typical production yields two high quality archival DVD’s which remain in the delARte Productions archive and 300 production DVD’s, 250 of which are for the use by the artist and 50 DVD’s to be used and provided for broadcast as required by delARTe Productions to promote the artist on international television in major and to further the program as required.Further copies can off course be manufactured as demand dictates.

The Process:

By choosing artists internationally, artists from a variety of different disciplines (people that are not particularly famous) the many unifying aspects of artistic endeavor within different cultures can be vividly demonstrated and the most unlike civilizations may find common grounds for further dialog. We shall interview such artists on broadcast quality video in his/her own environments in an effort to draw forth the essence of their accomplishments and defeats, their struggles and successes. We want to show how they came to do what they do and depict any unique processes or skills they may employ. We furthermore wish bring their philosophy to light so that other interested parties may learn from their experience. The video production shall be augmented with appropriate music of the artists choosing so as to make well rounded, interesting half hour presentations.

Appeal for Sponsorship:

On average each production takes one day for recording and interviewing and a day in post production that includes the design of graphics and distribution materials.

We have streamlined production costs using minimal crew (usually three people) and by using our own top of the line equipment to $1,250 /day recording and $650 for post production.Consumables, mailings, miscellaneous and maintenance typically require another $2,000 bringing the typical total production costs for each coverage to $3,900, a sum not easily expended by the average artist.Your sponsorship in full or in part would be much appreciated and would result in the posting of your logo or other graphics, your statement, or video clip of your choosing during the credits.

Please contact me to explore additional avenues to encourage your sponsorship.

Your consideration is much appreciated; many creative avenues are available to make this a win/win proposition for commerce and the arts.
